Arne Körner is a German director born in Berlin in 1962. He is one of the most respected figures in the film industry and has directed a number of acclaimed films.

Körner began his career as an assistant director for the German television network ZDF in the early 1980s. During his time at ZDF, Körner directed a number of television films and series. His first feature film directorial debut was in 1986 with the romantic drama, 'Flügel und Fesseln'. The film was a critical success and won several awards.

Körner went on to direct a number of other films including 'Schlafes Bruder' (1997), which won the German Film Award and 'Die Fälscher' (2007), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Körner's style is often described as intimate and personal. He is known for his attention to detail and for his ability to draw out powerful performances from his actors. His films often explore complex moral themes and have a subtle psychological depth.
