Guy-Marc Hinant is a Belgian producer, engineer, and director who has been involved in the music industry for over two decades. He is best known for his work with established experimental music labels such as Sub Rosa and his own imprint, Constellation. He has also worked on numerous projects with internationally renowned musicians such as Chris Watson, John Duncan, and Oval.
Hinant was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1966 and grew up in a creative and musical family. His interest in the music industry was sparked in the late 80s, when he began to explore the world of experimental music and record production. After completing his studies in classical music and graphic design, he started to produce and engineer music for various labels. In the mid-90s, he co-founded the independent record label Sub Rosa, where he produced numerous albums of experimental and avant-garde music.
As well as his work in the music industry, Hinant has also pursued a career in film and video production. Hinant has produced a number of albums for the label, including works by composers such as John Cage, Alvin Lucier, and Morton Feldman. He has also collaborated with other labels such as Sub Rosa and Important Records to release albums of experimental music.
Hinant has also been involved in a number of experimental music projects. He has released a number of solo albums, and has collaborated with musicians such as Chris Watson, Francisco Lopez, and Lawrence English. He also produced the album ‘Ascending’ by the band Scorn, which was released in 2012.
