Nicolas Entel is an Argentine film director and producer best known for his work in the thriller and action genres. He has directed several critically acclaimed films, including his debut feature film “The Aura” and “The Clan” which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.

Entel was born in Buenos Aires in 1974 to a family of filmmakers and cultural activists. His father was an editor in the audiovisual market and his mother was the head of a production company. He began his film career as an assistant director, working on commercials and television shows. He eventually worked his way up to directing his own projects and was recognized with awards from the National Film Institute and the Argentine Film Critics Association.

Entel’s breakthrough came with his debut feature, “The Aura” (2005). It was selected for the Cannes Film Festival and earned him a Goya Award nomination for Best New Director. The film follows a man who makes a living stealing from wealthy homes and is forced to confront the consequences of his actions when he finds himself in the middle of a robbery gone wrong.

In 2015, Entel released his most successful film, “The Clan” (2015). It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and earned him a Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. The film is based on the true story of the Puccio clan, a family in Buenos Aires that kidnapped and killed people for ransom in the 1980s. It was praised for its intense performances and its deeply unsettling atmosphere.

Entel’s most recent film is the action thriller “The Summit” (2017). It stars Ricardo Darin and tells the story of a group of climbers who climb a dangerous mountain in the Andes and discover a hidden secret that could change the course of history.

Entel’s films have earned him numerous awards and recognition around the world. He is renowned for his ability to create tension and suspense, as well as his knack for crafting tight, action-packed stories. He continues to push himself with exciting new projects and is considered one of the most important filmmakers in Latin America.
