Wolgrand Ribeiro is a Brazilian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1971. He studied film at the University of Belo Horizonte and began his career in the early 1990s as an assistant director.

Ribeiro is best known for his work on the feature films "Love is Blind" (2003) and "The Secret of the Valley" (2006). He received critical acclaim for his work on both films, both of which were nominated for Academy Awards.

Ribeiro has directed several short films as well, including "The Desert" (1999), which won the award for best short film at the 2000 Brazilian Film Festival. He also wrote and directed the feature film "The Year of the Dog" (2016), which was nominated for several awards, including the Berlinale Grand Prix.

In addition to his work in film, Ribeiro has directed several television shows, including "The Biggest Loser" (2011) and "Geração Brasil" (2014). He has also directed several music videos, including "Carnaval" by Brazilian singer-songwriter Chico Buarque.

Ribeiro has received numerous awards for his work, including the Silver Leopard for Best Director at the Locarno International Film Festival. He has also been nominated for several other awards, including the Grand Prize at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
