Vladimir Koptsev is a documentary filmmaker based in Barcelona. He is a graduate of the renowned directing workshop led by Alexander Sokurov at the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Film and Television, completing his studies in 2022. Before turning to documentary filmmaking, Koptsev worked as a news correspondent and as a professional stuntman, experiences that inform his observational and physically engaged approach to storytelling. Duality, co-directed with Sergei Lukyanchenko, marks a significant step in his career as an independent filmmaker, examining faith, conscience, and the pressures of war through intimate access to two Orthodox priests living on opposite sides of the world.
