Veronika Lišková is a Czech documentary filmmaker and director. She studied cultural studies at Charles University and screenwriting and dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Her feature debut Daniel’s World premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale. In 2015 she received the Pavel Koutecký Award for her short film Tap Water.
Her second feature, Visitors, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and was screened at over forty international festivals, earning several distinctions including the Czech Competition Jury Award for Best Czech or Co-produced Film at One World IHRDFF 2023, a Special Jury Mention at Jihlava IDFF 2022, and Best Film at One World IDFF Slovakia 2022. In 2024, her latest film Year of the Widow premiered at the Warsaw International Film Festival.
Veronika Lišková is currently developing her fourth feature, My Other Perfect Me, a hybrid-format film. She also works as a curator and dramaturge.
