Valérie Léon is a French film director, screenwriter, and producer. She was born in Paris, France in 1971 to parents who are both French-born. At a young age, she developed a passion for filmmaking and was determined to pursue it as a career.

Valérie attended the prestigious Institut des Arts et Métiers in Paris, graduating in 1996. She then went on to work in the film industry, starting out as an assistant director. She worked on numerous films, including The City of Lost Children and Amélie. Valérie eventually made the transition to directing her own films, starting with the short film La Marche du Ciel which was released in 2000.

Valérie’s first feature film, Les Mauvais Jours, was released in 2006. It was well-received by critics and audiences alike, and earned her the Prix Jean Vigo for Best First Feature Film. This honor was the beginning of a long and successful career as a director.

Valérie has gone on to direct and produce several feature films, including A la Folie, Pas du Tout, La Vie en Rose, and La Disparition des Lucioles. Her films have been screened at various film festivals around the world, including Cannes, Berlin, and Venice. Valérie also has a number of television and video game credits to her name.
