Svetlana Pechenykh is a Russian director with a long career in television and film. She was born in Moscow in 1969 and has directed several films and television series. She has also written and produced numerous projects.

Pechenykh graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 1996 and since then, she has directed a range of projects, including the feature film “The Legend of the Vampire” (2005), the short film “The Cross” (2006) and the television series “The Life of Others” (2007).

In 2008, she directed the feature film “The Girl with the Red Scarf”, which was awarded the Golden Eagle Award for Best Feature Film. This was followed by her work on the television series “The Fall of an Empire” (2009), which was a huge success in Russia.
