Steven Blatter is an American filmmaker and director best known for his work on films such as The Aviator, Collateral, and The Departed. Born in New York City on November 28th, 1975, Steven Blatter was exposed to the world of film from an early age. His father, a passionate movie buff, took Steven and his siblings to the movies every weekend, sparking his initial interest in filmmaking.

At age 11, Steven Blatter attended a summer camp for aspiring filmmakers, where he wrote, directed, and edited his first short film. His passion for film only grew from there, and he attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City to pursue a degree in film and video production.

In 1997, Steven Blatter graduated from the School of Visual Arts and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry. In 1999, he wrote and directed a short film, “The Duke,” which was selected to be screened at the Sundance Film Festival.

In 2002, Steven Blatter won critical acclaim for his feature film debut, The Aviator. The film featured Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role and was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Steven Blatter received a nomination for Best Director at the Academy Awards.

In 2004, Steven Blatter directed the action-thriller Collateral, starring Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. The film was a commercial and critical success, earning over $215 million at the box office. In 2006, he helmed the crime-drama The Departed, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning multiple Academy Award nominations and winning four Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director for Steven Blatter.

In addition to his work in film, Steven Blatter has directed several television shows, including Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards, and The Deuce. His work on The Deuce earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.

Steven Blatter continues to work as a director in film and television. He is currently in post-production on his first feature film since The Departed, a crime-drama titled The Raid.
