Stephan Talneau is a Canadian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his critically acclaimed films The Square (2015) and The Visit (2019).

Talneau was born in Toronto, Canada in 1977. He began his career as an assistant director on the television show "The Kids in the Hall", and eventually moved into directing music videos for artists such as Nelly Furtado, Our Lady Peace, and Sarah McLachlan.

In 2009, Talneau released his first feature film, The Square, which he wrote, directed, and produced. The film was critically acclaimed, and won awards at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival.

In 2011, Talneau directed the psychological thriller, The Visit. The film was praised for its tight narrative and suspenseful atmosphere, and it earned Talneau numerous awards, including the Genie Awards for Best Direction and Best Picture.
