Simon Ripoll-Hurier is an award-winning director, producer and screenwriter from Barcelona, Spain. He has been directing films since the early 1990s and has earned worldwide acclaim for his work.

Ripoll-Hurier was born in Barcelona in 1967 and grew up in a family of filmmakers. His father was a cinematographer, which fostered his love for film and his interest in the craft. At the age of 12, he began filming his own short films with his father's Super-8 camera.

At the age of 16, he enrolled in the Barcelona Film School, where he studied film production and directing. After graduating, he worked as an assistant director on several films. He then went on to direct his first feature film, Mar de Fondo, which won several awards at the Gaudi Film Festival.
