Sattar Chamani Gol (born in 1968) is an Iranian director who has made a name for himself with his bold and visionary approach to filmmaking. He is best known for his visually stunning films that explore the harsh realities of life in Iran. His films often tackle subjects such as poverty, corruption, drug addiction, and gender inequality.

Gol was born in Tehran, Iran, and graduated from the Tehran Technical College with a degree in film direction in 1993. He began his career as an assistant director on the television series ‘The Persian Carpet’ and went on to direct several short films. His feature film debut was ‘A Long Goodbye’, which won the Best Director Award at the Tehran International Film Festival in 1998.

Gol has since directed several critically acclaimed films, including ‘The Blue-Veiled’ (2000), ‘The Lost Time’ (2003), ‘The Man Who Became a Tree’ (2006), ‘The White Meadows’ (2009), ‘The Silence’ (2011), and ‘The Day I Became a Woman’ (2012).
