Sanne Rovers is a Dutch documentary and multimedia director and a member of Docmakers. In her work, she often combines the emotional power of music with documentary storytelling, creating films that are both intimate and cinematic. Her project The Long River Slides premiered at IDFA and was presented as part of IDFA Live on Stage, a special programme blending film and live musical performance.
Her short documentary Homo Ludens (2018) received the Audience Award at the Go Short Film Festival. Rovers has also directed youth documentaries such as Wild Lilly (2011) and The World of Kim and Bob (2016), both nominated for the Prix de Jeunesse.
