Samarth Mahajan is an award-winning film director from India. Born in Mumbai in 1987, he has been creating films and commercials since the age of sixteen.

Mahajan’s first short film, ‘The Call’, a story of a young boy’s journey to adulthood, won the National Award for Best Short Film in 2006. He followed this up with the feature-length film ‘Alone But Not Lonely’, which earned him an International Film Festival Award in 2008.

In the following years, Mahajan continued to explore his creative talent with several more projects. He directed the critically acclaimed film ‘The Fading Light’, which won the Best Feature Award at the New York International Film Festival. The film was later released in the United States and received positive reviews.

In 2012, Mahajan directed the much talked-about ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’. Based on true events, the film won a number of awards and was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year.

Mahajan has also directed several successful commercials and music videos for leading Indian brands and singers. His work has been featured on MTV, Channel V, and other TV channels.

In 2016, Mahajan was conferred with the prestigious National Film Award for Best Director for his work on the film ‘Aurora’. The film was also nominated for six other awards at the International Film Festival of India.

Mahajan has a passion for telling stories and believes in the power of cinema to bring about social change. He is currently working on a number of new projects, including a feature-length film and a documentary.
