Sam Peeters is a Belgian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for his Academy Award-winning short film, “The Silent Child”. Peeters has been directing films since the early 2000s, but it was his success with “The Silent Child” that truly established him as one of the most promising directors of the contemporary generation.

Sam Peeters was born in 1976 in Belgium. He grew up in a small town, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his creative passions. As a child, Peeters was an avid reader and loved attending the movies. He began making films with his friends at an early age and eventually decided to pursue a career in directing.

In 2004, Peeters attended the prestigious Brussels Film Academy, where he studied film directing. He graduated in 2008, and his first feature-length film, “The Silent Child”, was released in 2011. The movie was an instant success, and it earned Peeters an Academy Award for Best Short Film.
