Rolando Colla is an award-winning Swiss director and screenwriter. He was born in Lugano, Switzerland in 1963 and began his career in the late 1980s with shorts and documentaries. He is known for pushing boundaries and for his poetic and visual storytelling.

Colla's feature film debut was in 1992 with the critically acclaimed "Luna di fiele" (Moon of Bitterness). The drama follows the story of a young woman, Giulia, who is struggling to come to terms with her mother's death.
