Raúl de la Fuente is a Spanish director, screenwriter, and producer of film and television. He is known for his work in feature films, documentaries, and television series.

Raúl was born in Madrid, Spain in 1972. He studied Economics and Business Administration, and then went on to study cinema at the University of Barcelona. After completing his studies, Raúl worked as an assistant director and assistant editor on films such as "The Dancer Upstairs" and "The Sea Inside".

In 2004, Raúl made his feature film debut with the drama "The Best of Me". The film was well received and won several awards, including Best Film at the Malaga Film Festival. He then went on to direct the documentary "Conexiones", which explored the lives of Latin American immigrants living in Europe.

In 2005, Raúl co-wrote and directed the short film "La Piel de la Memoria", which won the Goya Award for Best Short Film. This was followed by the feature film "Una Vida Mejor", which was nominated for seven Goya Awards, including Best Director.

Raúl has since directed several other documentaries, feature films, and television series. His feature films include "The Last Days of Emma Blank" (2009), "The Fury of a Patient Man" (2016), and "The Book of Vision" (2020). He has also directed episodes of the television series "The Head", "Vis a Vis", and "Cable Girls".

Raúl's work has been praised for its realism and sensitivity. He has won numerous awards for his films, including the Grand Prix at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, Best New Director at the Gijon International Film Festival, and Best Director at the Malaga Spanish Film Festival.

Raúl is currently preparing his next feature film, "The Year of the Rabbit", which is set to be released in 2021. He also serves as a professor in the School of Filmmaking at the University of Barcelona.
