Ramon Gieling is a Dutch film director, screenwriter, and producer. Born in 1959 in the Netherlands, Gieling studied at the Netherlands Film Academy before beginning his career in the 1980s. He is best known for his award-winning films 'Minoes' (2001) and 'The Northerners' (1992).

Gieling's first feature-length film, 'The Northerners', released in 1992, was a critical and commercial success. The film follows the story of a group of young people living in Amsterdam's Jordaan neighborhood and their struggles with identity, love, and relationships.
