Paula Gomes is a Brazilian film director and screenwriter. She is best known for her award-winning films "The Two of Us" (2013) and "The Scarlet Ibis” (2018).
Gomes was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1983. She was raised in a middle-class family and graduated from the University of São Paulo with a degree in filmmaking. She started her career as a director in 2006 with the short film "A New Life", which earned her several awards at festivals around the world.
In 2009, Gomes directed her first feature-length film, "The Two of Us", which won the Best Feature Film Award at the São Paulo International Film Festival. The film follows the story of two women, who are both struggling with the same issue: the search for identity.
