Miroslav Sikavica is a Serbian film director and screenwriter known for his award-winning films such as "The Parade" and "Life Is a Miracle". Born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1956, Sikavica studied film at the University of Belgrade's Academy of Arts and has been directing films since 1985.

Sikavica's breakthrough came in 2001 with his World War II drama "The Parade", which received numerous awards and critical acclaim. It was the first Serbian film to be submitted for the Academy Awards. Following this success, Sikavica wrote and directed the drama "Life Is a Miracle" in 2004, which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2007, Sikavica wrote and directed "The Trap", a psychological drama about a man who has been released from prison after serving a lengthy sentence. The film was nominated for several awards, including Best Film at the European Film Awards.

In 2009, Sikavica wrote and directed the comedy-drama "The Optimists", which was selected for the Toronto International Film Festival. The film follows the lives of a group of friends who are struggling to make ends meet while working in the music industry.

Sikavica has also directed several documentaries, including "The Unseen War" in 2007, which follows the lives of those living in the war-torn area of former Yugoslavia. He has also directed numerous television series, including "The Fourth Man" and "The Miracle of Life".

Throughout his career, Sikavica has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival and the Gold Hugo Award at the Chicago International Film Festival. He is considered one of the most important Serbian directors of his generation.
