Mila Zhluktenko is a Russian-born director, producer and screenwriter. She is best known for her films ‘The Room’ (2012) and ‘The Woman in the Window’ (2015).

Mila was born in Moscow, Russia. She studied acting at the Moscow Theatre Academy before moving to the UK and studying film at the London Film Academy. After graduating, she began her career as an assistant director on various films and television shows, before writing and directing her own short films.

In 2012, Mila made her feature film debut with ‘The Room’, a psychological thriller about a woman trapped in a room. The film was praised for its intense atmosphere and earned Mila several awards, including Best Feature at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival and Best Director at the Chicago International Film Festival.

The success of ‘The Room’ led to Mila directing her second feature film ‘The Woman in the Window’ in 2015. The film stars Julianne Moore as a reclusive woman who is haunted by her past and struggles to connect with those around her. The film was a critical success and earned Mila several awards, including Best Director at the Austin Film Festival and Best Feature at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival.

Since then, Mila has continued to work on various projects, including producing the feature film ‘The Other Side’ (2016) and directing the television series ‘The Exorcist’ (2018). She has also written and directed several short films, including ‘Echo’ (2015) which won the Audience Award at the London Short Film Festival.

Mila’s films are distinctive for their unique visual style and darkly psychological themes. Her intricate and detailed storytelling have earned her critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. She is currently working on her next feature film, which is set to be released in 2021.
