Maxim Yakubson, is a Russian film director, producer and screenwriter. He is best known for his feature films, including The Island, A Place Where the Sun Sets, and The Land of Love.

Yakubson was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1980. He graduated from the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts in 2003. He began his film career in television, directing short films and music videos. He later moved into feature film production, and his first feature film, The Island, premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival in 2006.

The film received positive reviews, and Yakubson won several awards, including Best Screenplay at the International Film Festival of Odessa, and Best Director at the Moscow International Film Festival.
