Massimiliano De Serio is an Italian film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed films "The Great Beauty," "The Son of No One," "The First Beautiful Thing," and "The Place Beyond the Pines."
De Serio was born in Naples, Italy in 1972. He studied film and drama at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the University of Florence. After completing his studies, he went on to work as a production assistant for a number of Italian television shows and commercials. In 2003, he wrote, directed, and produced his first short film, "Il fiume di cristallo," which won several awards at the Milan Film Festival.
