Marcin Janos Krawczyk is a highly accomplished Polish film director and screenwriter, best known for his award-winning films. Born in Warsaw, Poland in 1973, Krawczyk was raised in a creative and artistic family and developed a strong passion for the arts from an early age. He studied film directing at the prestigious National Film School in Łódź, graduating in 2002.

Krawczyk began his career directing music videos and television commercials, while also writing screenplays for several independent films. His first feature-length film, “The Debt” (2005), earned him the prestigious Golden Lion at the Gdynia Film Festival and won him a nomination for Best Screenplay at the Polish Film Awards.

Krawczyk continued to make critically acclaimed films, including “The Art of Loving” (2006) and “The Closed Circuit” (2008). His 2010 film, “Sisters”, won the Golden Lion at the Gdynia Film Festival, making him the first Polish director to receive the honor twice. His next film, “The Cold Room” (2011), was selected as Poland’s official entry for the Academy Awards and won numerous awards, including six at the Polish Film Awards.

Krawczyk has also directed numerous television series, including the crime drama “The Pact” (2012), and the historical drama “The Last Kingdom” (2013). He has also directed several episodes of the popular shows “The Wire” and “The Walking Dead.”

Krawczyk’s work has been praised for its powerful visual style and innovative storytelling. He has become one of the most influential directors in Poland and is a consistently sought-after collaborator by the country’s leading film directors.

Krawczyk continues to be a highly respected figure in the Polish film industry.
