Isabel Sáez Pérez is a Spanish film director, screenwriter, and producer. She is renowned for her unique and daring approach to filmmaking, which combines elements of both documentary and fiction.

Born in Madrid in 1973, Isabel studied at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Telecomunicación. After completing her studies, she worked for several television channels as a producer and editor before turning to filmmaking.

Her first major project was the short film 'Frente al Mar', which was selected for inclusion in the International Film Festival of Rotterdam in 2006. The film won a Special Mention at the festival and set the tone for her subsequent work, which often explores social issues and the human condition.

Her feature debut, 'La Línea Recta', was released in 2009 and won the Goya Award for Best New Director. It also received a special mention at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

Isabel's next feature, 'Sabina', was released in 2011 and was nominated for the Goya Award for Best Film. It tells the story of a young woman who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after being diagnosed with a terminal illness.
