Héctor Silva Núñez is a Mexican film director, producer, and screenwriter. He has directed several feature films, documentaries, and television shows.
Núñez was born in Mexico City in 1974. He studied filmmaking at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and graduated with a degree in cinematography. He then went on to work in the production department at Televisa, the largest television network in Mexico.
In 2003, Núñez wrote and directed his first feature film, “Buscando a Eimish”. The film was a critical success and earned him a nomination for Best First Film at the Ariel Awards. He followed this success with his second feature film, “El Baño del Papa”, which won the Ariel Award for Best Director in 2006.
Núñez then went on to direct several television series, including “Luz en el Corazón” and “Imaginarios”. He also directed the television movie “La Llorona”, which was nominated for an International Emmy. In 2009, he wrote and directed his third feature film, “La Leyenda de las Momias”, which was a box office success.
In 2010, Núñez directed the documentary “Cronica de una Muerte Anunciada”, which was a critical success and earned him the Ariel Award for Best Documentary. In 2012, he wrote and directed his fourth feature film, “El Eternauta”, which was a box office success and earned him the Ariel Award for Best Screenplay.
Núñez has continued to write and direct films, television series, and documentaries, and has earned numerous awards and nominations throughout his career. He is known for his ability to tell stories that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Núñez currently resides in Mexico City and continues to write and direct films. He is considered one of the most influential and respected filmmakers in Mexico.
