Giovanni Pellegrini is an Italian film director, producer and screenwriter. He was born in 1966 in Milan, Italy. He studied directing at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and went on to become one of the most respected directors in the Italian film industry.

Pellegrini has directed some of the most acclaimed films of the past two decades. His debut feature, “The Best of Youth” (2003), was acclaimed for its epic scope and emotion. The film won numerous awards, including the prestigious Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. He has since directed such acclaimed films as “The Girl by the Lake” (2007), “The Man Who Will Come” (2009), “The Flight” (2012) and “The Great Beauty” (2013).
