Frederik Subei is an award-winning film director, screenwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed feature films, “The Last House on the Left” and “Take Shelter”.

Subei was born and raised in the Netherlands, where he developed an interest in film at an early age. After studying film and media studies at the University of Amsterdam, he moved to the United States to pursue a career in filmmaking.

In 2007, Subei made his feature film debut with the thriller “The Last House on the Left”. The movie was a critical and commercial success, earning him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Feature. The film also won the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film.

Subei followed that up with the psychological drama “Take Shelter” in 2011. The film was a critical success, earning him a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. The film also won numerous awards, including the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Picture.
