Claire Savary is an award-winning French film director and screenwriter. She is known for her innovative and unique style of filmmaking, which combines elements of documentary and fiction to tell stories that are both personal and political.

Savary was born in 1967 in Paris, France. She studied at the renowned La Fémis film school in Paris, and graduated in 1991. After completing her studies, she began working as an assistant director, working on films such as Les Visiteurs and La Femme de chambre du Titanic.

Savary's directorial debut, La Vie est un long fleuve tranquille (Life is a Long Calm River), was released in 2002 and was an instant success. The film, which tells the story of a family living in a small rural village in the French Alps, earned numerous awards and accolades, including the Cesar Award for Best First Feature.

Since then, Savary has directed a number of critically acclaimed films, including the award-winning drama La Fille de Monaco (The Girl from Monaco) and the romantic comedy Les petits mouchoirs (Little White Lies).
