Charlene Doak-Gebauer is an award-winning director and producer based in Los Angeles. She has been in the entertainment industry for over 25 years, working on films, commercials, television shows, and web series.

Doak-Gebauer was born in Texas and grew up in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and went on to get her Master’s degree from UCLA. She then began her career in the entertainment industry, working as an assistant director.

Doak-Gebauer moved to Los Angeles to pursue her directing career and soon found success. She directed her first feature film in 2004, and since then has directed several feature films, including “The Widower”, which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, and “My Name Is Myeisha”, which won the Grand Jury Prize at the LA Film Festival.

Doak-Gebauer has also worked on a number of television shows and web series, including “The Good Place”, “The L Word”, “My Name Is Earl”, and “Orange Is The New Black”. Her directing credits also include commercials and music videos for brands such as AT&T, Samsung, and Sprite.

Doak-Gebauer’s work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Women in Film Crystal and Lucy Awards, the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television, and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series.

Doak-Gebauer is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry. She is the co-founder of the “Women in Film” organization, which works to create a more inclusive and diverse Hollywood.
