Caiao Baú is a Brazilian film director who has been making waves in the international film industry since his award-winning debut feature film, "2 Filhos de Francisco" in 2004. Born in São Paulo in 1978, Baú's career began in television production before making the leap to the big screen. His films have been met with critical acclaim, winning many awards, including the Audience Award at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival in 2005, and most recently the Best Director award at the 2017 Huelva Latin American Film Festival in Spain.

Baú's directing style is often described as lyrical and poetic, and his films are often set in the Brazilian countryside, exploring themes of family, identity and social issues.
