Bernard Weber is a renowned film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, he grew up in a creative environment, surrounded by his family's passion for the arts. He attended the National Theatre School of Canada where he honed his craft and developed his aesthetic.

Weber’s career began with short films, which he wrote and directed. His first feature, “The Chain” (1989), was a psychological thriller that established him as an innovative filmmaker. He followed this success with a number of highly acclaimed films, including “The Trespasser” (1992), “The Sweet Hereafter” (1997), and “The Five Senses” (1999). He also wrote and directed television series such as “The Outer Limits” (1995) and “The Collector” (1997).

Weber’s films have earned him numerous awards, including two Genie Awards, two Canadian Screen Awards, and a Peabody Award. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Achievement in Directing for “The Sweet Hereafter”.

Weber continues to work on both feature films and television. His most recent project is the 2019 television series “Baroness von Sketch Show”, which he produced and wrote. He also executive produced the acclaimed Canadian feature “The Breadwinner” (2017).
