Adrien Roche is a French documentary filmmaker who has directed several critically acclaimed films. He was born in Paris in 1967 and studied film at the prestigious La Femis film school in Paris. He has directed documentaries, short films, and feature films, and has won numerous awards for his work.

Roche's first documentary, Les Quatre Filles Du Docteur Marchais, was released in 1995. The film follows the lives of four young women who have been abandoned by their father and left to fend for themselves in a small rural village. The film was a success and won the Prix Jean Vigo at the Cannes Film Festival.

Roche's second documentary, L'Age d'Or de la liberte, was released in 1998. The film follows a group of students in a French high school as they attempt to gain freedom from the oppressive school system. The film earned Roche critical acclaim and received the Grand Prize at the Locarno International Film Festival.

Roche then directed two short films, La Ville des Enfants and L'Etoile de Mer. The films were both well-received and earned Roche awards at the Avignon Festival and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.

In 2004, Roche directed his first feature film, Les Passagers de la Nuit. The film follows a group of people living on the margins of society in Paris and explores themes of poverty, violence, and alienation. The film won several awards, including Best First Feature at the Venice Film Festival.

Roche has since directed two more feature films, Le Voyage D'Hiver and Les Enfants de la Mer. Both films have been praised for their sensitive and raw portrayals of human struggle.

Roche is currently working on a documentary about the French poet and artist Arthur Rimbaud. He is also developing a project about the Roma people of France and their struggle for recognition and rights.
