Aaron Biebert is an American documentary filmmaker and the creator of several award-winning films. He is best known for his documentary A Plastic Ocean, which has been viewed over 50 million times and has won numerous awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Environmental Film Festival at Yale.

Aaron was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and grew up in a family of four, with his parents and older sister. Growing up, he was always interested in the world outside of his home, often reading about distant cultures and exploring nature. His first love was photography, and he spent much of his early life taking photos and studying the art of composition.

As he grew older, Aaron moved from photography to filmmaking. He studied film at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and during his time there he created several short films. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles and began working as a freelance filmmaker. His work focused on telling stories about the environment, and he quickly gained recognition for his work.

In 2010, Aaron released his first feature-length documentary film, A Plastic Ocean. The film highlights the devastating effects of plastic pollution on our oceans and the environment. It features interviews with experts in the field, and stunning visuals of the plastic pollution. The film went on to win numerous awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Environmental Film Festival at Yale.

Since the release of A Plastic Ocean, Aaron has continued to create documentary films that focus on important social issues. His films have been seen in over 40 countries, and have been featured on outlets such as Netflix, the Discovery Channel, and the BBC. He has also been invited to speak at various film festivals, universities, and conferences around the world.

Aaron is passionate about using film to bring awareness to social issues and inspire action. His work has been recognized by many organizations, including the United Nations, which awarded him the Sustainable Development Goals Media Award in 2018.

Aaron is currently working on his next documentary film, titled “The Story of Plastic”, which will explore the global plastic crisis. He is also writing a book on the same topic, and is working on other projects related to environmental conservation and sustainability.
