Toomas Järvet studied law and cultural theory, yet his longstanding interest in photography and cinema eventually guided his path towards filmmaking. His direction became clear when he pursued a master’s degree in Visual Anthropology at the University of Barcelona. He was selected for the IDFA Academy in 2011 and later took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2013. His first short documentary, Over and Out, was selected for competition at Visions du Réel in 2012 and screened at several other international festivals. Rough Stage marks his feature documentary debut. His next feature project, Black and White. Juhan Kuus, a Road to Father’s Home, was planned for release in 2017.
