BIO

Sally Jo Bellosillo is an award-winning Filipino-American director, writer and producer. She is best known for her films and TV series such as A Change in the Air, The Great Unknown, and The L Word.

Bellosillo was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at a young age, eventually settling in Los Angeles. She attended the University of Southern California, where she graduated with a degree in Film and Television Production.

After graduation, Bellosillo worked as an assistant director on a variety of television and film projects, including the hit show Ugly Betty and the feature film The Hot Chick. She also wrote and produced her first short film, A Change in the Air, which won Best Short Film at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

In 2006, Bellosillo wrote and directed her first feature film, The Great Unknown. This critically acclaimed drama, which starred Tim Roth, earned her the Best Director award at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival.

In 2007, Bellosillo wrote and directed her second feature film, The L Word. This romantic comedy-drama, which starred Jennifer Beals, earned Bellosillo the Grand Jury Prize at the Miami International Film Festival.

In addition to her film work, Bellosillo has directed several television series, including the hit show The Riches and the critically acclaimed series I Love You, Beth Cooper. She has also written and produced several projects for HBO, including the documentary short The Filipina-American Experience.

Bellosillo continues to direct and produce television and film projects. She is also an active member of the Directors Guild of America, as well as a mentor at the Sundance Institute. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the Vimeo Visionary Award and the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.

Bellosillo's work has been recognized worldwide, and she continues to be an inspiration to aspiring filmmakers. Her films and television projects are full of heart and emotion, and her unique style of storytelling has won her many fans.
