BIO

Rudy Poe is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work in the horror genre, with films such as The Abandoned, House of the Dead 2, and The Hills Have Eyes II.

Poe was born in California in 1969, and grew up in the San Diego area. He attended San Diego State University, where he earned a degree in film production. After graduating, he went on to work as a production assistant for several independent films before making his directorial debut in 1997 with the cult horror film The Abandoned. The film was praised for its atmosphere and originality, and was praised by critics as being one of the best horror films of the year.

In 2003, Poe directed the sequel to House of the Dead, a film based on the popular video game series. The film was a financial success and has since become a cult classic. He then went on to direct the 2006 remake of The Hills Have Eyes, which was a critical and commercial success, and was followed up by a sequel in 2007.

In 2008, Poe wrote and directed the horror-comedy Death Race 2000, which was a commercial success.
