Robert L. Camina is a celebrated director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on feature films, television shows, and documentaries.

Camina was born in San Francisco, California in 1973. He received his degree in film studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1996. After college, he worked as a production assistant on the television series The X-Files before eventually branching out as a freelance filmmaker.

In 2004, Camina wrote, directed, and produced his first feature film, Redemption Road. The movie depicted the struggles of a woman trying to escape a life of drug addiction. It was a hit with audiences and critics alike; the film was nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards and was an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival.

Camina’s next project was the critically acclaimed 2008 documentary The Fire Next Time, which chronicled the struggles of African-Americans living in post-Katrina New Orleans. The film went on to win numerous awards, including the Best Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival.

In 2009, Camina wrote and directed the feature film The Last Lullaby, which starred Tom Sizemore, Erika Christensen, and Sarah Wynter. The movie was released to positive reviews and was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the Seattle International Film Festival.

Since then, Camina has gone on to write, direct, and produce a number of other feature films and documentaries. His most recent work includes the documentaries Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on the Big Screen (2016) and The King (2019).
