Markus Weinberg is a German-American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the films “The Signal” (2007), “In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale” (2008), and “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” (2013).

Weinberg was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received a degree in Art History. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in filmmaking.

Weinberg’s first feature film, “The Signal” (2007), was a horror/thriller about a group of college students who find themselves in a mysterious situation. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it was praised for its innovative visual effects. Weinberg followed up his success with the fantasy/action film “In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale” (2008), which starred Jason Statham and Ray Liotta.

In 2013, Weinberg directed the fantasy/adventure film “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones”, based on the novel by Cassandra Clare. The film was a commercial success, and it received positive reviews from critics.

Weinberg is currently working on a number of projects, including the drama “The Lawyer”, the horror film “The Mansion”, and the thriller “The Red Room”. He is also developing a television series based on the novel “The Wolf of Wall Street”.
