Luiz Pretti (born 1982, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a filmmaker and editor known for his distinctive, collaborative approach to cinema. He is a founding member of the production collective Alumbramento and currently runs his own company, Errante, in Belo Horizonte. His fifth feature, While We Are Here, co-directed with Clarissa Campolina, follows a series of acclaimed films that have screened at festivals such as Venice, Locarno, Rotterdam (IFFR), Rome, Viennale, and Oberhausen. He is currently developing two new feature-length projects.
