Luciana Mazeto is a renowned Brazilian film director, producer, and screenwriter. She is best known for her films such as “Aquele Querido Mês de Agosto”, “A Festa da Menina Morta”, and “O Som ao Redor”.

Mazeto was born in the city of Belo Horizonte in Brazil. She graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 1994 with a degree in Social Communication. Following her graduation, Mazeto began her career as a writer and director for documentaries and short films. Her first film, “Aquele Querido Mês de Agosto”, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008 and was critically acclaimed.

In 2010, Mazeto released her second film, “A Festa da Menina Morta”. The film is a psychological thriller and a reflection on the human condition. It was praised by critics and received several awards, including the Audience Award at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival and the Special Jury Prize at the São Paulo International Film Festival.

In 2013, Mazeto wrote and directed her third feature film, “O Som ao Redor”. The film is an exploration of the lives of three neighbors in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. It was a critical and commercial success, and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Mazeto has also worked as a producer and editor for several films, including “Aquarius”, “The Way He Looks”, and “Tremor”. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the Cinema Brazil Grand Prize for Best Film and the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film.
