Jonas Poher Rasmussen



Jonas Poher Rasmussen is a Danish film director, screenwriter and producer. He is best known for directing feature films, television series and documentaries.

Rasmussen was born in 1981 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He studied at the National Film School of Denmark and graduated in 2007. He started his career by directing music videos and short films. His first feature film, The Good Life, was released in 2009 and won the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

In 2010, Rasmussen directed the award-winning documentary A Hijacking, which was an international success. It was nominated for the Nordic Council Film Prize and won the Robert Award for Best Danish Film.

In 2016, he released the drama Land of Mine, which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The film also won the Bodil Award for Best Danish Film of the Year.

Rasmussen’s other films include the drama The Day Will Come (2016), the comedy The Charmer (2017), and the crime drama Before the Frost (2020). He also directed the TV series The Rain (2018-2020) and the documentary The World We Live In (2020).

Rasmussen has been praised for his ability to create intense, compelling stories that explore complex emotional and psychological themes. His films have been described as “haunting,” “powerful” and “beautifully crafted.”

Rasmussen’s films have won numerous awards and have been screened at prestigious film festivals around the world, including Cannes, Berlin and Venice. He has been recognized as one of the most talented and innovative filmmakers of his generation.
