John B. Bredar is an American film director and producer. He is known for his many documentaries, feature films, and television shows. He has worked with some of the most respected names in the industry, including Steven Spielberg, Ridley Scott, and Martin Scorsese.
Bredar was born in Washington, D.C., in 1959. After attending college at American University, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking. He began his career as an editor and assistant director in the early 1980s, working on several films including The Right Stuff and The Natural.
In the 1990s, Bredar shifted his focus to directing and producing. He produced the critically acclaimed documentary A Perfect Candidate, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
