Hooshang Mirzae is an Iranian filmmaker, director, and producer. He was born in Tehran, Iran in 1975 and began his career in the film industry in 1997.
He started out as a director of photography for various films and documentaries. His first feature film as a director was “The Other Side”, which was released in 2002 and won the Best Director Award at the Tehran Film Festival.
Mirzae then went on to direct the critically acclaimed feature film “Lullaby” (2006). He also directed the films “The Fall” (2010) and “The Red Rose” (2013). His films have won numerous awards at festivals around the world, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Milan International Film Festival.
In addition to his feature films, Mirzae has directed several documentary films, including “The Path of the Sun” (2011), “The Flag of the Sky” (2012), and “The Milad Tower” (2015). He has also directed several short films, including “A Letter From Tehran” (2013) and “The Shadow of the Palace” (2015).
In addition to his film work, Mirzae has also been involved in the Iranian television industry. He has directed several television series, including “The Life of the Imam” (2007), “The World of Cinema” (2008), and “The Story of Haj Agha” (2009).
