Her films combine personal stories with critical analysis, encouraging viewers to reflect on structures of representation and power. Her recent practice-based research focuses on survivor-led filmmaking and highlights the agency of individuals navigating mental health challenges. Born in Istanbul in 1982, she studied film at Istanbul Bilgi University, the University of Sussex, and the University of Warwick.
