Ge Ningning is an award-winning Chinese film director and screenwriter. She was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province in 1979 and attended the Beijing Film Academy, graduating in 2002.

Ge Ningning's first feature film, Borrowed Life, was released in 2008. The film was a critical success, garnering numerous awards and nominations, including the Golden Rooster Award for Best Director and the Golden Horse Award for Best New Director.

In 2010, Ge Ningning released her second feature, The Breakup Guru. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $20 million at the box office and being selected to screen at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
