Felipe Esparza is a Mexican-American comedian, actor, and director. He is best known for his stand-up comedy specials and appearances on the TV show Last Comic Standing. He has also appeared in films such as The Deported, Man on Fire, and The Blackout.

Esparza was born in East Los Angeles, California, in 1976. His parents, both Mexican immigrants, moved to the US in the 1970s in search of a better life. Growing up, Esparza was surrounded by gang violence and poverty, and his family struggled to make ends meet. Despite his challenging upbringing, he was determined to make something of himself and pursued a career in comedy.

Esparza began his comedy career performing stand-up at small clubs and bars in East Los Angeles. His career gained momentum after he won first place at the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 1996. From there, he went on to perform on television and radio shows, including Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Bob & Tom Show.

In 2010, Esparza competed on the NBC show Last Comic Standing, where he was the season seven champion. He also released his first stand-up special, They're Not Gonna Laugh At You, the same year. This was followed by a second special, Translate This, in 2012.

In addition to stand-up comedy, Esparza has acted in several films and TV shows. He made his feature film debut in The Deported in 2018, and has also appeared in Man on Fire and The Blackout. He is also a successful director, having directed the feature film The Last Laugh in 2019.

Esparza is an outspoken advocate for the Latino community, using his platform to speak out against racism and injustice. He has also appeared in several videos advocating for voter registration and encouraging people to participate in the 2020 US presidential election.

Esparza’s career has been a long journey of hard work and dedication. He has used his comedy to share his unique perspective on life, while providing entertainment and inspiration to viewers and fans all over the world.
