Federico Robles is an award-winning Mexican film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born in 1980 in Mexico City, Robles began his career in the film industry at a young age, working as an assistant director on several films before making his directorial debut at the age of 22.

Robles’ first feature film, La Ultima Noche (The Last Night), released in 2004, was a critical and commercial success, earning him the Ariel Award for best first feature film. Robles followed up his debut feature with the 2006 drama La Casa de al Lado (The House Next Door), which was also well-received by critics and audiences alike.

Robles’ third feature, La Caja Negra (The Black Box), released in 2010, was a groundbreaking film that earned him a second Ariel Award for best director. The film, which tells the story of a young girl's search for her long-lost father, was praised for its innovative visual style and poignant themes.

In 2016, Robles released his fourth feature, Vivir en Otra Parte (Living Elsewhere). The film, which follows a young couple as they confront the realities of immigration, was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival and earned Robles his third Ariel Award for best director.

Robles' fifth feature, La Casa del Fin de los Tiempos (The House at the End of Time), released in 2018, was an independent horror-thriller that earned him a Goya Award nomination for best director. The film, which tells the story of a woman's emotional journey as she confronts the supernatural secrets of her past, was praised for its ambitious visual style and elaborate set pieces.

Robles is currently in production on his sixth feature, a psychological thriller set in modern-day Mexico. He is also developing a television series for Netflix.
