E. Randol Schoenberg is an American lawyer and actor best known for his work in the movie, “Woman in Gold”. He was born on August 12, 1951 in Los Angeles, California.
Schoenberg studied at Harvard University and graduated with a degree in law in 1978. After completing his studies, he opened his own law firm in Los Angeles and specialized in cases related to Holocaust reparation. He was also a lecturer at UCLA, teaching a course on Holocaust reparation as well.
In 2009, Schoenberg achieved international fame when he was selected to portray the role of lawyer, Lawrence Goldmark, in the movie, “Woman in Gold”. The movie was based on Schoenberg’s real-life efforts to recover a painting, “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I”, which had been stolen from his grandmother, Maria Altmann, during the Holocaust.
In addition to his legal activities, Schoenberg has also made several appearances as an actor on television and stage. He has appeared in the TV series “Law & Order: SVU”, “The Good Wife” and “Glee”, as well as the feature films “The Human Stain” and “The Judge”.
Schoenberg has also served on the board of directors for a number of organisations, including the Los Angeles Music Center and the Museum of Tolerance. He has also been actively involved in numerous philanthropic activities.
In recognition of his work, Schoenberg has been awarded a number of honours, including the Austrian Decoration for Science and Art, the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
Schoenberg continues to practice law in Los Angeles and continues to play a role in Holocaust reparations and other legal areas. He is also an active advocate for the protection of victims of human rights abuses.
In his free time, Schoenberg is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys skiing, hiking, and camping. He is also a keen photographer and regularly posts his pictures on his blog.
