David Rothkopf (born May 5, 1954) is an American actor, producer, and director. He is best known for his roles in the films Birdman, The Wrestler, and The Departed.

Rothkopf was born and raised in Great Neck, New York. He attended the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan and graduated with honors in 1972. He then went on to study at the Yale School of Drama, where he graduated in 1977.

Rothkopf has had an extensive career on stage, beginning with his Broadway debut in the musical “On the Town” in 1980. He then went on to perform in numerous other Broadway productions, including “The King and I”, “Cabaret”, “Gypsy”, and “Cats”. In addition to his work on Broadway, Rothkopf has also appeared in numerous off-Broadway plays, such as “The Misanthrope”, “The Tempest”, and “The Scarlet Pimpernel”.

Rothkopf has also had an extensive film and television career. He has appeared in a number of films, including Birdman, The Wrestler, The Departed, and The Good Shepherd. He has also made appearances in various television shows, including Law & Order and The Sopranos.

Rothkopf has also produced and directed a number of films, including The Butcher’s Wife, The Last of the Mohicans, and The Island. He has also produced and directed a number of documentaries, including The Last of the Mohicans Revisited, A Day in the Life of David Rothkopf, and The Story of the Jews.

In addition to his acting, producing, and directing career, Rothkopf is also a well-known philanthropist. He founded the David Rothkopf Foundation, which works to support education, the environment, and the arts. He has also contributed to numerous charities, including the United Nations Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund.

Rothkopf has received numerous awards for his work, including the prestigious Drama Desk Award in 1981, the Outer Critics Circle Award in 1982, and an Emmy nomination in 1983. He has also received a number of honorary doctorates from various universities.
